Organisation Switcher
Easily switch between multiple organisations with the organisation switcher. Simply click on your current organisation's name in the top-left corner to see a list of all the organisations you have resources in and select the one you want to manage. If you are only a member of a single organisation, the switcher reverts to just display the organisation's name.
Sidebar & Breadcrumbs
Sidebar navigation and breadcrumb trails keep you oriented and make it faster to navigate across different sections and features of the Portal.
User Profile
My Projects
A list of all the projects in which you have a role. Easily access and manage any project you're a member of across all organisations without searching through multiple menus.
My Audit Logs
View your own audit logs to track all actions you have performed across projects and organisations. This makes it easier to review your recent activity and monitor your contributions. Audit logs are also available on the organisation level.
Profile
Connected Accounts
Manage your accounts for the Compute and Kubernetes services directly from your profile. View account details, and regenerate passwords, all in one place for easy access and control.
Application Version
The current Portal version is displayed at all times in your profile dropdown, so you're always aware of the release you're working with.
Provide Feedback / Report a Bug
Instantly share feedback or report issues using the respective form. This feature empowers you to help improve the Portal by directly informing our team.
Organisation Management
Organisation Member Management
Invite new users and manage existing organisation members with ease. As an organisation owner you can grant or revoke access at any time and oversee all memberships in the Manage Organisation section. Invitations follow a structured flow, allowing you to track their status, resend expired invites, and revoke pending ones, ensuring that only the right users gain access.
Audit Logs
As an organisation owner you get access to the audit logs of your organisation. These audit logs provide a detailed record of all key actions that happend within your organisation. Each audit log entry includes the author of the action, the event type with details about the request and response, the item type, the name of the affected item, and the timestamp of the action. This allows you to review past activities, monitor changes, and ensure visibility into how resources are managed.
Project Management
Project Creation
As an organisation owner you are able to create a new project. Simply provide a name and an optional description, and you are ready to go. This minimal setup lets you quickly spin up new projects without unnecessary overhead, so you can focus on getting your workloads up and running.
Project Table
Portal offers a project table that lists all the projects you can access within the current organisation. A convenient search bar lets you filter projects by name, while service icons indicate the activated services (Compute, Kubernetes, or S3) for each project. Clicking a project name takes you directly to its dashboard, and clicking a service icon sends you straight to that service page, making it easier than ever to find what you need.
Project Dashboard
Get a comprehensive view of your project at a glance by visiting the Project Dashboard. Each available service (Compute, Kubernetes, S3) appears as a card. You can activate any service with one click, if it's not already enabled, or review high-level information of its resources, if it is. You will also find a Project Members card that shows how many people are currently working on this project, with a direct link to manage them. Clicking inside any card takes you to its detailed management page, letting you configure resources and members as needed. From this dashboard you can edit the project's name and description or delete the project at any time.
Project Member Management
Invite anyone to your project; no prior organisation membership required. With Project Member Management, you can add new contributors by email, grant them access solely to the specific project they need to work on. All invitations are tracked in the system, so you can quickly resend or revoke them if needed. Removing a member from a specific project revokes a member's access without affecting memberships on other projects or the organisation.
Compute Service Instance
Activating the Compute service in a project, creates a corresponding synced OpenStack project. For any advanced actions, such as provisioning or modifying infrastructure details, you can use Horizon or the OpenStack CLI. This approach ensures consistency between the Portal and the service backend while providing full access to all available service features.
Shared Application Credentials
You can generate shared application credentials directly in the Portal for your Compute service. Instead of personal credentials, these let services and automated systems authenticate against OpenStack's API without needing to use personal user accounts. Easily manage, rotate and revoke these credentials at any time, keeping integrations flexible and secure.
Compute Service Instance Members
You can manage the Compute service instance's memberships of project and organisation users and grant them access to the Horizon Dashboard directly from the Portal. Adding or removing members in the Portal immediately synchronises these changes to the underlying Compute service instance, eliminating the need for manual account configuration. This ensures everyone on your team has timely access to the resources they need.
Kubernetes Service Instance (RC)
Our Kubernetes Service, powered by Kubermatic, is now available as a release candidate. When you activate Kubernetes in a project, the Portal automatically synchronises with a corresponding Kubernetes backend, letting you view cluster information and perform basic management tasks. For advanced operations, like deploying applications or configuring networks, you can switch to the Kubermatic Dashboard.
Kubernetes Project Members
You can add or remove users of the Kubernetes service instance from the Portal and assign them any of the available roles. Once invited, members can access the Kubermatic Dashboard for full cluster management and the use of other features of the framework.
S3 Service Instance
Our S3 service, backed by Ceph, lets you store and manage large volumes of unstructured data. When you activate S3 for a project, the Portal sets up an S3 service instance, which creates a user account for each available endpoint. This ensures you can immediately start creating buckets and manage access through the Portal.
SSD and HDD Endpoints
We offer distinct SSD and HDD storage endpoints for your S3 buckets, allowing you to tailor capacity and performance to your needs. Choose SSD for faster access or HDD for cost-effective, large-scale storage, ensuring each workload runs on the most suitable tier.
Quota Management
You can view and modify your storage quota directly from the Portal, with options ranging from 0 to 5 TiB. If you need additional capacity, simply contact our support team, ensuring you always have the space you need.
Access Key Management
Generate, view, and delete access keys for each endpoint from the Portal. These access keys let you securely interact with your S3 buckets via CLI tools or SDKs.
Bucket Management with Object Locking
Create and delete buckets using our simple bucket management features. Enable object locking features at bucket creation to empower your compliance and governance use-cases. Inspect the size and object count of each bucket in one view.
Seamless edu-ID Integration
Change any attribute in your edu-ID account without worry. When you update your edu-ID account, our systems will automatically reflect the changes (name, email, ...), ensuring uninterrupted service across all active services.
